This 1.5-kilometre jasmine-lined walkway follows the route of a former Vatican railway viaduct between the Vatican walls and Piazzale Gregorio VII. Elevated above the surrounding streets, the path offers unexpected views of St. Peter's dome from angles that no guidebook covers. In late spring and early summer, the jasmine blooms scent the entire corridor so heavily it feels like walking through perfume. Almost no tourists know this path exists β your companions are joggers, dog walkers, and elderly Romans who've used it for decades. The walkway is flat, shaded, and peaceful: the polar opposite of the Vatican crowds just hundreds of metres away.
