Fonclea has been filling the Prati neighbourhood with live music every single night since 1977. The narrow, low-ceilinged space fits maybe 80 people, which means the band is practically in your lap — intimate doesn't begin to cover it. The programming runs the full spectrum: rock, jazz, Latin, folk, bluegrass, and blues rotate through the weekly schedule. There's no cover charge most nights; the venue sustains itself on drink sales and a loyal local crowd that treats it as a living room. The beer selection is respectable, the cocktails are honest, and the vibe is the antithesis of Rome's polished rooftop scene. A genuine neighbourhood music bar.
